Trust Your Intuition

Although it certainly doesn’t get talked about enough, I strongly believe that intuition is among the most important elements for success in entrepreneurship. I operate very much on my intuition. I know that I’m making the right moves based on how I feel in my gut.

In fact, the sixth sense is the final success principle in Napoleon Hill’s groundbreaking work, Think and Grow Rich. Last year I had the honor of speaking at the Think Grow Rich Legacy World Tour where we traveled across America to educate people on the 13 success principles from the book Think and Grow Rich. It was an incredible group of world-class speakers including Tim Storey, John Shin, Sharon Lechter, Greg Reid, David Meltzer, Kevin Harrington, Nick Lowery, Mario Lopez and more.  These thought-leaders and authors helped thousands of entrepreneurs get new perspectives on who they really are, find out why they may be stuck, and become inspired to take action for what they want to become.

[blur]Napoleon Hill explains that you can become more aware of your intuition or gut feelings when you start meditating and you truly tune into your subconscious mind – your connection with the infinite wisdom of the universe. Through this, you can get the answers to questions in the form of gut feelings. While it’s possible you won’t completely engage your sixth sense until you’ve mastered the first 12 of his principles, if you are experiencing these hunches, they are certainly not to be ignored.

The very first inkling I had to becoming an entrepreneur came to me through a vision.  It was a true calling.  A sixth sense.

I woke up in the middle of the night during a 4-day intensive yoga conference in Hong Kong. I was practicing yoga up to 7 hours every day and I was absorbing all the spirituality around me. My intuition told me to forget about acting, singing, and dancing – everything I have ever wanted as a career.  I realized that I wanted to be a business woman. My first company was Chakras by didi. I designed yoga-inspired streetwear with a mission to inspire every person to try yoga, because it changed my life. I’d even seen the design of my first tank top in that vision too.

I’ve since had several companies, executive produced TV shows, become an author and a seed investor. And I believe I’ve become successful so fast because I understand the art of articulation: I know how to conduct a conversation. It’s never rehearsed or forced. I’m always real and authentic. I’ve been able to teach this important element for success to entrepreneurs through The Yes Academy.

Arguably the most important point an entrepreneur needs to articulate is The ELEVATOR PITCH. As an angel investor on the TV show Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch, I’ve seen so many people come in to pitch and then mess up their moment of glory because they weren’t prepared or speaking in their authentic selves. My mission is to help change that.

If you’re stumped by the question, What Do You Do? Then NOW is the time to PERFECT your Elevator Pitch.

My intuition also plays a big part when it comes to whom I choose to work with. When I do business with people, I like to get to know them. It’s all part of growing your relationship capital, right? If someone is authentic and a person of their word, those are signals to me that we will have a fruitful business relationship.
